Josh Cohen lived and volunteered in Honduras in 2007-2008. He is a certified teacher and has worked as a math teacher for over 20 years. He is in charge of the development of the entrepreneurial components of the cooperatives.

Iris Madrid, Director of Honduran Operations
Iris Madrid, Director of Honduran Operations, lives in Honduras. She is in charge of coordinating all of the daily logistics in Honduras for Light of Esperanza. She has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.

Peggy G. Rubinstein,
President, Oregon chapter of Light of Esperanza
Peggy Rubinstein has been a volunteer with Light of Esperanza since 2010. While she began by donating school supplies to Light of Esperanza to give to youth in need in Honduras, Peggy quickly transitioned into the instrumental role of helping Light of Esperanza to organize its annual fundraising event in Eugene, Oregon. As President of the Oregon chapter of Light of Esperanza, Peggy dedicates her energies to promote the important work of Light of Esperanza in Oregon.
Peggy Rubinstein ha sido una voluntaria con Light of Esperanza desde 2010. Shmuel Rubinstein lived and volunteered in Honduras in 2007-2008. He is a certified teacher with a Masters Degree in Secondary Education, and has worked in the field of education and nonprofit organizations for more than 20 years. He is focused on fundraising efforts for Light of Esperanza.

Hugo Javier Alvarado Herrera, Agricultural Advisor
Hugo Javier Alvarado Herrera advises the Board on the successful implementation of agricultural projects. He utilizes his past expertise and experience as the Coordinator of the San Rafael, Lempira department of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as well as over 15 years of private agricultural business ventures. He has a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Engineering.

Angela Madrid Lara, Director
Angela Madrid Lara was born in the village of Vega Redonda, Honduras. For the past thirteen years, she has directed Light of Esperanzas from the United States. She has a Bachelors Degree in International Business, and a Bachelors Degree in Education.

Dr. Nadya Assaf Rubinstein, Coordinator of Health Projects
Dr. Nadya Assaf Rubinstein is a board certified, licensed family physician who specialize in using plant medicine as part her treatment therapies for her patients. Her focus of care is working with women, children and patients dealing with cancer.
La Dra. Nadya Assaf Rubinstein es una médica de familia con licencia y certificada que se especializa en el uso de medicamentos naturales como parte de sus terapias de tratamiento para sus pacientes. Su atención se centra en trabajar con mujeres, niños y pacientes con cáncer.
Joshua Rubinstein, Secretary
Joshua Rubinstein became interested in Light of Esperanza after learning about the situation of the people there. He is a certified Naturopathic Doctor and teaches at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. He actively supports the community health programs for Light of Esperanza.

Kyle Kankanton, Project Management Advisor
Kyle Kankanton has worked as a Project Manager for the past 15 years. He has worked on projects ranging from commercial buildings to roads and highway infrastructure, and is certified with a BS in Administrative Management, as a Planning and Schedule Professional (PMI), and as a Construction Management Professional from the University of Washington. Kyle is focused on advising the Board on successful planning and implementation of projects in Honduras.
